Create structured, validated and approved breakdowns

 

Generator is an application which allows the next number in a sequence to be generated for specified numbering formats known as “breakdowns”. It is usually used for generating tag numbers but can be applicable to other structured numbering formats (e.g. document numbers).

These breakdowns are built up of several groups, “break groups”, all of which have a range of permitted values. These permitted values could be a list of lookup options e.g. facility code, system number or regular expression text strings.

The application allows users to generate a new number by selecting options for each break group and identifying where in the string the sequence number is located. It will then look at the existing register and generate the next available unique number that matches the options selected.

Batch Generation

 

Batch generation mode allows multiple sets of numbers, following different breakdown patterns or different options to be generated under a single job with the same reference name.

Job History and Approval

 

Historical jobs that have been created within the Generator application are displayed for a full audit trail. When numbers are generated, any ‘approval users’ will be notified, and these will be pending prior to approval.
